Remembering our heroes
This Memorial Day, we remember our heroes and protectors of our freedom. The Task Force Dagger Foundation provides assistance to wounded, ill, or injured US Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) members and their families. They respond to urgent needs, conduct Recreational Therapy Adaptive Events, and provide next-generation health solutions for issues facing our service members. The story of the Schroeder Family is one of the many instances in which Task Force Dagger has changed lives.
Soldier Scott Schroeder wears two prosthetic legs and a false arm following a devastating roadside bomb attack in Afghanistan in December 2011. Scott has always had a passion for scuba divingand learned how to dive in 1980. With these injuries, Scott had to relearn his skills.
Just 6 months later, Scott was able to go on a Dagger Dive trip and scuba dive with his wife and son with his determination and his love of his family, both military and personal. He had just gotten fitted with his new prosthetic legs. The week-long series of dives, in the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary, is part of a recreational therapy program.
Scott continues to support the Task Force Dagger Foundation, speaking on their behalf at events and attending the annual Dagger Dive as a mentor. He said: ‘I originally thought I was going to be on the giving end. Here I find I'm on the receiving end of the foundation, and I'm blessed that they were there to help me and my family.’
To honor the brave men and women of our military, we created Joffrey’s Valor Blend®. Today through May 25, we are doubling our donation from $1 to $2 for every order of Valor Blend®. We are so thankful to be a part of this wonderful cause.
